Cricut, Mother's Day, and Making a few things look nice...

I have been looking for a Cricut for a loooonnnngggg time now.  I just didn't want to spend the huge price tag at the stores...like $300 on sale.  So, I searched e-bay and craigslist.com, and couldn't find anything that I was willing to pay for.  So, I watched e-bay not so patiently and checked out what others had sold for.  I knew I wanted to pay under $200...shipping included.  So, I watched...waited, and kept hoping.  I decided to bid on one at the last second and ended up getting it for $157.50!!!! Shipping included!  Scrapbooking here I come!

So, here is what my daughter requested today!

We call her Jay...short for Jalynn (I was just going to put the "J" on her door, but she wanted the "AY" added.  How can I deny her...I have this cool new toy to play with.  She also wants to add butterflies on her walls...I need to order some vinyl for that.

The kids and I have been busy making Mother's Day gifts.  This is what I came up with for our gifts...I made one for myself...after all I am a mom, too.

I got my Cricut just in time to cut out the kids names.

I also took some old photo frames and make them look FABULOUS! The one on the left was $.99 at the Goodwill.

Here they are after I sanded them:

Here is the one on the left after (the Goodwill frame)...it still needs something...

These two cost me...nothing other than a piece of sand paper and the spray paint that my husband already had left over from another project.  I am on the look out for deals and ideas to make my house more like a home...after all I am a Carpenter's Wife...maybe I can be more like him.  Just don't tell him I was out in his shop today...using his TOOLS!  Really he doesn't need to know...we can keep this between me and the whole internet world...LOL!
I'd better go clean up my spray paint, sandpaper, air hose, sawdust mess...

Until next time...Sprouts has white corn on sale for $.19 and watermelons for $1.99 each
