My hubby and I have been itching to get our kitchen remodeled. We found a STEAL on Birch plywood and want to purchase 20 sheets this month. However, we need to pull the $$ from somewhere. So, I suggested that we pull it from our grocery $ and challenge ourselves to finding meals from our stockpile, only to purchase fresh produce, milk, and eggs.
I really don't NEED anything at this point, and probably can get away with not shopping at all next week, except for lettuce. I have all the toiletries that we could possibly need for the next month at least...the only thing is toilet paper, my stash is starting to get low, but I still have 25ish rolls left.
My challenge is to spend only $100 between now and March 31st! I really really think I can do it. The 20 sheets will cost us $552.00. I normally spend $290 on groceries each month, I have spent $73.41 this month so far. So, my total for both months is 580.00, minus the 73.41 I have spent this month=$506.59 is what I have left. I need at least $100.00 to get fresh produce, and I may not need that much, but that is what I will set aside for groceries for 6 weeks!
I will have $406.59 toward the wood!!! I subbed a day and a half this month, so I have the extra to cover what we will need to buy the wood! I am super excited about this. I will get my shelving soon for my office and pantry!!!
Now, on to the challenge. Join me as I s...t...r...e...t...c...h $100!

Wholly heck at first I thought you said until March 1st and I thought well that is easy, but I reread it that is going to be tough hopefully there will be some amazing deals so it won't be as hard!
I have my first weeks meals planned. I am planning on spending about $20ish. I hope I can do it! It will be a big challenge for me, I will post my lists here in a bit.
